Pedestal fruit dish, Creil-Montereau earthenware, of the "Japon" set.

Out of "porcelaine opaque", with decoration printed in blue on white zone (bluish) with the Eastern manner representing a Chinese landscape composed of plum trees, perched rocks and flowers.

The edge is decorated of four flowered zone and thrown flowers. The fruit dish stands on a round foot with curved throat. It is in perfect condition.

The mark of Creil and Montereau is printed in two ways, with the seal under glaze.

Dimensions: diameter 28 cm, height 10 cm.

This famous decoration "Japon" does not have its similar in elegance and quality of print. It was constantly repeated until the second world war. It was also the tableware which Claude Monet used to receive his guests.
